Tips:‍ ‍

  • There are many acceptable ways to treat your section headers and spacing/indentation. Just keep it simple, consistent, and easy to read.

  • It is fine to change the order of the sections to fit the opportunity. However, the Education section is usually kept at the top, and Exhibitions, Awards/Grants, and Residencies are generally placed above other sections. Here is CAA’s suggested sequence:

    • Name and contact

    • Education

    • Professional Experience

    • Awards | Grants | Fellowships | Residencies (or residencies might have their own section)

    • Exhibitions

    • Commissions

    • Press / Bibliography

    • Visiting Artist | Public Lectures | Workshops | Symposia

    • Collections (notable collections your work is a part of)

    • Other Categories
